Überblick
The acerola cherry is a shrubby plant native to tropical regions of the western hemisphere. The acerola produces cherry-like berries that taste pleasant and are used in medicine. Traditional uses include the treatment of liver disease, diarrhoea, dysentery, coughs and colds. Because acerola is extremely rich in vitamin C, it is now often used to treat or prevent colds or flu-like infections.
