Cat 's Claw (Uncaria tomentosa) is a liana native to South America. The trunk length can reach up to 100 m and the diameter more than 20 cm. It has thorns similar to claws, from which its German name as well as its Spanish (uña da gato) and English designation (cat's claw) are derived.
