The chaga mushroom grows on the bark of birch trees in cold climates such as Canada, Siberia and northern Europe. From the outside it looks like burnt charcoal, inside it captivates with its orange colour. It is therefore also called "black gold".

The medicinal mushroom Chaga is a natural source for a number of active substances. These include beta-glucan, superoxide dismutase, melanin (dark dye), vitamin D , triterpenes, minerals and amino acids. The content of the various ingredients varies depending on the location and climate in which the Chaga mushroom grows.
