Directions

One tablet daily. If necessary, the intake can be increased to two tablets daily. Take the tablet preferably with the evening meal, as the production of cholesterol mainly takes place at night.

Ingredients per tablet:

• Bergamot extract (Citrus x limon (L.) Osbeck) - 200 mg
• Artichoke extract (Cynara scolymus L.) - 80 mg
• Plant sterols - 120 mg
• Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) - 20 mg (25% RI)

Excipients: Fillers (microcrystalline cellulose, dicalcium phosphate), Anti-caking agents (magnesium salts of fatty acids, silicon dioxide), Coating (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, calcium carbonate, polyethylene glycol), Color (iron oxides).

Usage

Take 1 to 2 tablets daily, preferably during the evening meal.

Precautionary measures

Food supplements cannot replace a varied and balanced diet or a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the daily recommended amount. Arterin® Cholesterol is not intended for people who do not need to control their cholesterol. The intake of more than 3 g of added plant sterols per day should be avoided. (1 tablet contains 120 mg plant sterols - 2 tablets contain 240 mg plant sterols.) Consult your doctor if you are already taking cholesterol-lowering medicines. Not suitable for pregnant women and breastfeeding. This product is only suitable for adults. Arterin® Cholesterol should be used as part of a balanced and varied diet with regular intake of fruit and vegetables to help maintain carotenoid levels.

Bergamot (Citrus x limon (L.) Osbeck) is a citrus fruit, also known as the 'prince of citrus fruits' due to its unique properties. The bergamot juice extract in Arterin® Cholesterol is unique and was developed by Italian pharmacists in collaboration with the University of Bologna based on extensive scientific research. This extract is highly concentrated in flavonoids.

WHY PLANT STEROLS?

Plant sterols have a similar structure to cholesterol, which reduces the absorption of cholesterol in the intestine.

Some of the cholesterol in our bodies comes from the food we eat. That's why it's so important to eat healthy. Some of the cholesterol we ingest with our food is absorbed from the intestine into the bloodstream, causing the cholesterol level in our blood to rise.

Plant sterols are cholesterol-like substances that naturally occur in low concentrations in plants (e.g. fruits, vegetables or pine bark). Because they have a similar structure to cholesterol, plant sterols reduce the absorption of cholesterol in the intestine, so more is lost in the feces and less is absorbed into the bloodstream. This in turn helps to lower total cholesterol and LDL (the bad type of cholesterol) levels in the blood 1 .
